In the famous novel Things Fall Apart, written by Chinua Achebe, the main character, Okonkwo, is described to be a strong and reliable character. He is also thought to be a wonderful father. It is all of these things that could have made Okonkwo a great man, a strong man, and a good father, had he chose other directions. Instead, he allowed the clan and their traditions to rule his life and make all of his decisions for him, and that is why Okonkwo is a weak character.
