…of Rome. There may have been an underlying gain for the higher ranking officials by killing Caesar, but that is unknown. It is known that the citizens, as a whole, did not gain much of an advantage by his death, except that they gained a new ruler. The people, in general, were known to prefer a leader that they could admire and look up to as a superior person. This person was called Julius Caesar.
