…near the top of the building Conclusion: Precision in a measurement is how many significant figures you measuring device will read to but that does not necessarily mean that the measurement is accurate. If the correct measurement is 2.5cm and your measurement is 2.459678 then your measurement is more precise but not as accurate as 2.5. When there is no accepted value, error can be minimized by measuring many times many different ways and averaging the results.
